We had some issues with our tickets not scanning on entry and it took about 10 mins or so to sort out, which was a but frustrating when everyone else was walking in without any problems. Still, we did save around $50 booking this through Book Me, which was well worth it. Kids had a great day. Please be aware though that the Penguin Boat ride closes at 3pm. We missed out and kids were so disappointed.
Big aquarium with a lot to see. Some of it is a bit dated and in needs of cleaning/renos, but still an impressive aquarium with a wide variety of environments and beautiful tanks. The larger tanks have some impressive large animals. We were lucky to visit on a day that wasn’t busy and had plenty of time and space to look at the sea life. The kids were very excited and impressed by what they saw. Overall a very good experience.
The entry into the aquarium itself was very disorganised. People just gathering on the footpath trying to squeeze in and cut lines without any of the employees supervising. And then you all spill into the first exhibit, with way too many people there you can’t see anything. The tunnels were a nightmare. People just stopping completely and blocking traffic despite the constant directions of keep moving on the left, photos on the right. Pure chaos. The animals itself were beautiful and so lovely to be that close but felt really rushed and it was so crammed. Very overwhelming for kids at time. The penguin boat ride was super cute but way too fast. The kids barely saw them Could be so much better for the price you pay. We paid the same as Taronga and this was hardly comparable unfortunately
Over crowded, very humid/warm and far too many people allowed in at any one time.
