Platypus Tour that's Eco-certified, wildlife-rich, and proudly Aussie — this is a rainforest wildlife experience like no other.
Join us for an unforgettable day as we depart Airlie Beach at 11:30 AM and journey south into the lush Clarke Ranges. Nestled in these mist-covered, rainforest-clad mountains lies the breathtaking Eungella National Park—part of the EcoTourism Australia–certified trail and one of Queensland’s most treasured natural wonders.
Covering over 51,700 hectares, Eungella boasts the longest stretch of subtropical rainforest in Australia. Its isolation over thousands of years has preserved its rich biodiversity, making it a truly unique ecosystem. The name Eungella, meaning “Land of the Clouds” in the local Aboriginal language, perfectly captures the mystical beauty you’ll encounter upon arrival.
One of the park’s most memorable highlights is the chance to see the elusive platypus in its natural habitat. With a little patience (and some luck), you may spot this shy, iconic creature—a magical experience that’s often the highlight of the day.
Lunch at the Pinnacle Family Hotel
We’ll stop for lunch at the iconic Pinnacle Family Hotel, where you’ll have time to relax and purchase lunch from the hotel’s menu — including their famous Pinnacle pies!
Lunch is at your own expense, giving you the freedom to choose exactly what you’d like to eat. If you’re travelling on a budget, have specific dietary requirements, or simply prefer to bring your own lunch, you’re more than welcome to do so.

Thank you so much for this lovely review. We’re really glad you enjoyed your day with D. We also wished the platypus showed up, but we’re happy the rest of the tour was still a great experience for you. Hope to see you again soon, maybe next time we’ll get lucky!
